About Matilda's own Patchwork Templates
The Matilda's own range of patchwork templates provides you with the shapes and sizes to form almost any block. All our templates are cut by laser to an accuracy of 1/1200th of an inch. The laser also etches in information regarding coding and grain lines which can be seen under all light conditions. This etching will not wear off.
Our templates can be used for hand or machine piecing. Many of the templates include registration marks and seam allowance, making it very easy to align pieces when stitching. Where pieces are set in, use these registration marks to get perfect set-in pieces.
All templates are tested by experienced teachers and patchworkers, and many templates include printed instructions which are checked by professional quilters.

Curved Star Hexagon
Design #2 of the "Playing With Hexagons" series of blocks. This design has gentle curved piecing.
Diamond Hexagon
Design #5 from the "Playing With Hexagons" series. This pretty block is set with a small centered hexagon, surrounded by diamonds and triangles.
Diamond Star
Choose one of two sizes to make 6-pointed stars, in as many rounds as desired, then join with the large diamond.
Double Wedding Ring
This challenging block is made so much easier with these templates! All curves are marked to match. Templates include an alternative whole or piece curved.
Dresden Plate
Wedge shape to make Dresden Plate pieces with triangle point tips. Plates can be made up to 8" long.
Drunkards Path
Choose either size to make this old fashioned block and set as desired.
Framed Hexagon
A lovely hand piecing project that comes together very quickly. Three hexagon shapes make up these engaging blocks.
Grandma's Star
Combining two favourite blocks, a small Grandmother's flower garden surrounded by a double round of star points. Blocks are joined with a large triangle making a third star shape.
Hana
Gorgeous 1930's style block. Join with diamonds or hexagons, or alternatively set with a plain large hexagon.
Hanabi
Hanabi is the Japanese word for fireworks, which inspired the name for this tantalising star.
Hoshi Stars
A set of templates for creating three different 8" star designs - Evening Star, Lemoyne Star and Ohio Star.
Kumo
Kumo is Japanese for cloud or spider - as an octagon has eight sides we thought this was appropriate. However, arachnophobics can think of the octagon as a lovely cloud of fabric!
Maru
Maru is the Japanese word for circle, which is perfect for this antique block. The block can be made by hand or machine.
Merry-Go-Round
The first in the "Playing With Hexagons" series. This design is easily pieced, and includes a triangle to square up the blocks. You can piece two block designs in the one set.
1" Template Set
A selection of 7 pieces, consistent in size to allow for a large variety of block designs. A handy little set!
Periwinkle Star
This is a very sweet block where pretty fabrics can be joined in two ways. Make the Star and set the Periwinkle Star blocks together with the diamond.
